About this Archive

Administrative/Biographical History

Natalie Lambert (b.1995) is an interdisciplinary artist as well as Curator and Founder of Toula Gallery. Originally from Pittsburgh, Lambert received a BFA in Fine Arts from NYSSC at Alfred University 2018. Natalie is currently an MFA Candidate at the University of Wisconsin Madison 2023.

Raised in a non-traditional home with two mothers, Natalie approaches her work from feminist theory. She challenges the viewer with her use of titles, materials, and imagery. Her work is exploratory to herself and the environment she is in or has experienced. Through language and eroticism, Lambert provokes thoughts of objectification and challenges the stereotypes about gender politics, sex, and the body.

An image of Natalie Lambert standing against a black background with a neon blue cross. A neon blue light is also over her.

Natalie has been exhibited in a number of shows, espace_furtur; Paris, France, Revisiting the Symbol; Memphis, Group Show 3; Shrine Gallery; NYC, Show #3; Trophy Case Gallery, Local Alumni Invitation, Cohen Gallery; New York, Rochester Erotic Festival; Rochester NY and In Care of the White House, Washington D.C., and a number of other shows.

Artist’s statement: My practice is a multitude of materials and research. I am versed in glass, sculpture, video, performance, and installation design. My work explores the uncomfortable and the sexual fantasies I find interesting. I am trying to navigate the power dynamics between sexual and non-sexual beings within the fetish world and my own life. To learn to control the environment, the material, and the people I am walking between a line that is the art world and the fetish world to help me navigate where I can bring those together. I collaborate with others in the fetish world to give my work more context. My work touches on the pushback as to why it makes people uncomfortable to be sexual and why it is deemed immoral or inappropriate. I allow myself to become more powerful by making this work and reclaiming what I gave up for so long, which was to be open and confidant in what I want out of my art and life.

#FROMTHE ARCHIVES

Eton Manor Boys’ Club was founded in 1909 in Hackney and was funded and run by four Old Etonians (Arthur Villiers, Gerald Wellesley, Alfred Wagg, and Sir Edward Cadogan) until it closed in 1967. The clubhouse, together with its nearby sports ground (The Wilderness), provided first-class sports and social facilities for boys aged 14 to 18, and who subsequently became members of the Old Boys’ Club. Eton Manor Boys’ Club boasts many former members who became international sportsmen.
