
Pilates
Through a gentle flow of exercises, you’ll learn to strengthen your core, improve posture, and increase flexibility and balance. Each class is infused with a mindfulness-based approach, helping you to leave feeling both refreshed and grounded in body and mind.
This course offers a supportive space to:
· Build strength, stability, and body awareness
· Ease tension, particularly from desk-based lifestyles
· Improve posture and mobility to support everyday activities
· Learn breathing techniques that promote calm and focus
· Develop habits that enhance long-term health and wellbeing
Who is this course for?
This course is open to all abilities, including complete beginners. Alternatives and adaptations will be provided for most conditions and injuries, so you can work at your own pace. If you have recently had surgery or have a medical condition that may affect your ability to exercise, please check with your GP before joining. Any questions, feel free to get in touch.
Will I need any equipment or materials?
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows free movement. Mats are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Classes can be practised barefoot or in socks, depending on your comfort. We will use some small equipment such as over balls and bands to enhance some exercises and provide accessibility and comfort when needed.
Practical information
- Changing room facilities are available.
- This is a Pilates Matwork class, so participants will need to be able to get down to and up from a mat. The tutor can offer adaptations, including some alternative movements using a chair or Pilates ball, to support different needs and levels of experience.
- If you have specific access needs or health considerations, please let the tutor know in advance so they can help you participate comfortably.
- If you claim a concessionary rate you may be asked for proof of eligibility (e.g. student card, or proof of age). Find out more about our concessionary rates.
- This course is taught by Esther Anaya-Boig. Her approach to Pilates combines physical alignment with mindful awareness, creating a safe and supportive environment where participants can nurture both their physical health and emotional wellbeing.

Meet the Tutor

Esther Anaya-Boig
Esther Anaya-Boig trained as a Pilates teacher with Allison Swan, a founding member of Pilates Foundation UK. She has also been teaching Mindfulness since 2016. Her approach emphasises self-awareness, body connection, and the use of movement and mindful practice to support health and wellbeing.

Before the course begins, you can choose to purchase either a full course ticket or a drop-in for the first class. Drop-in tickets for the remainder of the course will only become available after the first class and are subject to availability.
