About this Archive

Administrative/biographical history

Tony Shelley has been making images both as an amateur and professional since 1981. With no formal training, he learned his craft by shooting pictures of his family, landscape, bands, demonstrations etc, organising and financing his own exhibitions along the way. In the late 1990's Tony secured a job in local government (Leicestershire) as a product photographer for ESPO. Since retiring at the age of 60 in 2013, he has concentrated on his passion for pinhole photography, and has constructed a camera that will produce 12 x 12 inch paper negatives. In time all of these images will be donated to the Bishopsgate Institute. His work can also be viewed here.
