Meet the hosts

Pink Jukebox
The Pink Jukebox is a Ballroom and Latin dance club for members of the LGBT community and their friends.
Wonnita Olafisoye
One morning at the age of six, Wonnita's mother dropped them off at a local community center, intrigued by a sign that read, "Leave your child while you go shopping." Inside they discovered classes in Ballroom and Latin and joined a Rumba class, which they absolutely loved! That was the beginning of a continuing life-long passion. As well as Ballroom & Latin, they explored various styles, including Lindy Hop, Contemporary and Jazz.
Wonnita has always been deeply committed to making dance accessible, especially to adults who didn't have the chance to discover dance early in life like they did. Wonnita has Associate level qualifications in Ballroom and in Latin as a member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and they sat on the Alternative Rhythms faculty.
Wonnita's 40 years teaching experience includes group and individual lessons, ranging from medal exams and competition training to wedding first dances, social dance, special events, performances, workshops and residentials. In latter years, Wonnita had the pleasure of teaching at the Dance-a-Rama residential week at Laurieston Hall in Scotland. They were also part of the original Pink Dancers formation group and co-ran Waltzing with Hilda for 25 years.
Wendy Glaze
Wendy has loved music forever and feels so lucky to have been sharing this love for over 45 years as a DJ working in a range of styles including, for the past 30 years, Ballroom, Latin and Alternative Rhythms. In the early 1990s, together with Heather Gladding, Wendy and their partner Wonnita opened Waltzing With Hilda and ran it till its closure in 2019.
For Wendy, working as a DJ in partner dancing isn’t just about playing the right tempo. Wendy also wants the music they play to lift the space & compel people onto the floor. They love the challenge of it all; finding new music, rediscovering old music, reading the room, playing music that touches people, that makes them smile, that transcends the steps and brings out the best in each dancer.
