Beginner dance weekend 6-8 March 2026
News Story

As part of the UK-wide Let's Dance! campaign, we're offering an array of classes and social dances that welcome beginners, as well as a whole day dedicated to classes for complete beginners.
Friday 6 March offers both our monthly Swing Den night which is designed for beginners, and the twice-monthly Queer Tango London night, which always starts with a class for absolute beginners then develops into social dancing and practice. Swing Den starts with a full taster lesson, followed by social dancing with two teachers on hand throughout the evening to answer your questions and to help you develop your moves. It's all about building confidence, friendships and enjoying your first steps in swing dancing. Queer Tango London offers people who dance tango - or anyone who wants to learn - opportunities to experiment with who does what, and why, and how - teaching authentic Argentinian Tango, but with queer sensibilities: same sex couples, women leading, men following - all combinations are possible.
Saturday 7 March daytime is dedicated to taster lessons for complete beginners. Whether it’s Ballroom or Salsa, Lindy Hop or Latin American that you fancy trying out, we’ll put a spring in your step and a smile on your face. One ticket, two spacious rooms, and 8 x 50-minute taster lessons in partnered and solo dances for complete beginners.
Saturday 7 March evening sees Charles Chan return to host his Charles's Jukebox social dance from 1900. This iconic night offers a mixture of Ballroom & Latin music, Sequence, Argentine Tango, Salsa & Swing, plus a range of line dances developed in the dance halls over the last five decades. With the great music, warmth and friendliness you would expect from members of the Pink Jukebox team, there's something here for everyone.
Sunday 8 March afternoon is our twice-monthly social dance for members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their friends, the Pink Jukebox. The beginner lesson is at 1540, and this week it's for Paso Doble and Viennese Waltz. Social dancing takes over from 1630 - 1900 and includes line and sequence dances as well as the usual Latin & ballroom favourites. Beginners are warmly welcomed.
What a weekend!
