Tom Healy is Professor Emeritus of Renaissance Studies at the University of Sussex, where he was Head of the School of English. He worked for over 20 years at Birkbeck College in London, and prior to that at the University of Dundee. His scholarly work is mostly on 16th and 17th century literature. He has worked with Shakespeare’s Globe and with Westminster Council in developing opportunities to explore the humanities, and founded Birkbeck’s popular Arts Week. He has appeared frequently on Radio 4’s In Our Time. His way to destress is to cook, and he enjoys walking and the joys of serendipity.
