Dr Gareth Longstaff
Dr Gareth Longstaff is a Senior Lecturer in Media and Cultural Studies and the Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at Newcastle University, UK. His research uses critical, cultural and queer theory to analyse the contours of gender, sexuality, celebrity, pornography, and desire. He also works on how archival processes can create counter-histories and counter-mappings through mundane and ephemeral objects and how this aligns with practices of queer heritage, desire, memory and community.
