Amiri Harewood
Amiri Harewood (19) previously went to Trinity School in Croydon where he attended Trinity Music Academy studying piano under Richard Evans and cello with Ann Lines. He achieved Grade 8 piano with distinction at age 11, and Grade 8 Distinction on cello the following year. He has participated in master classes given by well-known pianists such Eduard Stan, Arnon Erez, Andrew Zolinsky, Charles Owen, Murray McLachlan and Vanessa Latarche.
Amiri has performed at numerous venues in the UK, including Steinway Hall, Etchingham Festival, Institut Francais and St Martin-in-the-Fields. He has also performed recitals abroad at Palazzo Cavagnis and Conservatorio in Venice, and the Mozart Music Festival in Forli, Italy. In 2019 he gave a performance of Grieg’s Piano Concerto to celebrate the re-opening of the newly refurbished Fairfield Halls, Croydon.
Until age 14 Amiri sang as a treble with the renowned Trinity Boys Choir, performing at venues such as Glyndebourne, Royal Opera House, Garsington, Aldeburgh and English National Opera; as well as touring Japan in 2015.
In September 2020, Amiri took up his place, on a full scholarship, at the Royal College of Music studying piano under Danny Driver.
