Role purpose 

The purpose of the Duty Manager role is to support the safe and effective operation of Bishopsgate Institute on a day-to-day basis.

The role includes responsibility for opening and closing the building, and keeping visitors, staff and the building safe and secure. The role supports the delivery of events, activities and venue hires. It also provides general operational support across the building.

The Duty Manager is the first point of contact for on-the-day activity. This includes customer and client liaison, staff supervision and responding to operational issues. This also includes acting as a Fire Warden, First Aider and bar supervisor.

The role includes regular practical and physical activity. This includes event set-up and pack-down, preparation of rooms and spaces, moving furniture and equipment, and heavy lifting where required.
