Give

Bishopsgate Institute is an independent charity, and we rely on income generated from venue hire and our programme. As our building has largely been closed over the last year in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, our income has been impacted significantly, meaning donations from supporters like you are more important than ever.

We invest every penny we receive into developing and delivering our programme for adults, and keeping our Grade II* listed building and library ready to re-open safely for all. We provide opportunities for people to explore their passions, develop creative projects, and expand their knowledge and skills.

Would you like to support us and our work?

Support our library and archives

Your donation will support our free library, including access to a mind-boggling array of materials and an industry-leading team of archivists. Whatever your project or research question, we’re here to help.

Contribute to the bursary programme

Your donation will enable us to offer free or discounted places on our courses for adults to those without the means to pay full price (the bursary programme).

Donate to restore and maintain the building

Your donation will enable us to maintain our extraordinary Grade II* listed building, now 125 years old, and keep it open and accessible to all.

Donate to help us through hard times

General donations will go towards the provision of our programme and library and the maintenance of the building. Bursary donations will be used specifically for our courses programme. Enabling us to claim GiftAid will increase the value of your donation at no cost to you.

How do you make a donation?

You can use the direct donation button below to make a donation. If you’d like to discuss your donation, please email the Chief Executive via enquiries@bishopsgate.org.uk.

You can also support our work by hiring one of our extraordinary spaces for your next meeting, away day, reception or conference. We will be taking bookings in line with government guidance. Ask our events team for up to date information; they will be happy to help.

#FROMTHE ARCHIVES

Eton Manor Boys’ Club was founded in 1909 in Hackney and was funded and run by four Old Etonians (Arthur Villiers, Gerald Wellesley, Alfred Wagg, and Sir Edward Cadogan) until it closed in 1967. The clubhouse, together with its nearby sports ground (The Wilderness), provided first-class sports and social facilities for boys aged 14 to 18, and who subsequently became members of the Old Boys’ Club. Eton Manor Boys’ Club boasts many former members who became international sportsmen.
