This course will take place in person.
The tango is a passionate and dynamic partner dance that evolved in Buenos Aires. Nick Miles and his Star Dance team will have you dancing both with confidence by the end of this workshop. This class will focus on following.
Who is this course for?
This class is for students who are already familiar with these dance styles and want to improve their skills. Solo dancers or couples welcome.
Do I need any equipment or materials?
You will need to wear appropriate footwear, which is standard or medium-heeled soft leather shoes or jazz shoes. Trainers are also acceptable. Please do not wear boots, stilettos, ballet pumps, or backless shoes.
Are there follow-on courses I can take?
We are also offering separate leading and following classes for Slow Foxtrot and Viennese Waltz.
How we’re keeping you safe
Because we would like to keep the staff and each other safe, we expect and recommend face coverings to be worn the public areas that can become crowded. These are the corridors, toilet areas and the queues at the bar. There will also be an event-specific QR code that guests will be asked to scan on arrival.

Please do not come to the Institute in person if you have symptoms or have tested positive.

Meet the Tutor
The Star Dance Club is based in Kent and South London and teaches Ballroom, Latin American, Sequence Old Time, Alternative Rhythms, and Disco Freestyle Rock ‘n’ Roll. The Star Dance Club teaches pupils from as young as three and offers adult classes too. Dancers are taught at all levels, from social dance to international competitions. Since its formation in 1992, the school has achieved numerous successes at events held throughout the country, with pupils from the school representing Great Britain at world-class events.
Nick Miles is co-principle of Star dance Club (established 1984) dance school based in Kent and the South East. Nick is Host of Bishopsgate Ballrooms monthly events. He is the recipient of two Carl Alan Awards, two Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing Awards, Blackpool Dance Festival Hall of Fame award winner, and the Ballroom Dancers Federation award winner. Nick was involved in the London 2012 Olympic flame production, and in all major dance competition events in the United Kingdom and overseas, including the London Globe held annually at Bishopsgate Institute. He is also a Member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.
