This course will take place in person.
This course takes a look at the development of men’s tailoring over the past 200 years. We will look at the history through the lives and works of the men who commissioned, wore, and made it. We will discuss the West End districts of Mayfair and St James’s, where the most distinctive menswear looks of all time were created.
The course features notable figures including George Brummell, John Stephen, Richard James, Tommy Nutter, Edward Windsor, and many more.
The second session of this course will be a walking tour around Mayfair and St James’s to see the places where menswear developed.
Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone with an interest in menswear and men’s tailoring, and all those interested in the social history and development of London’s West End.
