This is a six-week course for those who have no previous experience in tap dancing. We will build basic technique, including shuffles, taps, steps and time-steps. As the course progresses you will start to learn how these steps work together to form a routine.
Who is this course for?
This course is designed for those who have no or little experience in tap dancing. You will learn basic rhythms in order to ‘get a feel’ for the dance. Many exercises will involve work on strengthening the ankle muscles to get the level of flexibility required for tap dancing.
Will I need any equipment or materials?
You are welcome to start the in hard-soled shoes, but we strongly recommended the purchase of tap shoes to get the most out of the course. Please wear clothing you can move in comfortably.
