This course will introduce you to the basics of classical ballet, such as terminology, posture and skeletal alignment. Ballet is an excellent way to work out, as it increases tone, improves flexibility and helps develop a better range of movement.
Who is this course for?
This course is for absolute beginners to ballet, or those with little experience looking to refresh their memories, or those coming back from injury.
Will I need any equipment or materials?
You will need fitted athletic clothing and soft ballet technique shoes.

Meet the Tutor
David is a professional dancer and ballet teacher. He has performed at Royal Opera House Covent Garden main stage, English National Opera, Glyndebourne Opera, Grange Park Opera, The Dallas Opera, Welsh National Opera, The Orfeo Experience (UK and Malta), Ballet Theatre UK, Hack Ballet, BBC, Channel 4 and with Madonna. David is also a qualified ballet instructor from the Royal Academy of Dance. He has taught at Central School of Ballet, Trinity Laban Conservatoire, Urdang Academy and elsewhere. David was Artistic Director of his own ballet company for four years. He works with professional dancers and students of all ages.
Founded in 1977 by Bette Bourne, the cabaret and drag troupe Bloolips performed in the UK and internationally for over 25 years, in shows such as Lust in Space, Gland Motel, Sticky Buns and Slung Back and Strapless, winning several awards along the way. The collection includes photographs, posters, publicity materials and press reviews of these anarchic maestros of camp.
