
Queer Footprints: A Guide to Uncovering London’s Fierce History
The night will kick off with an in-conversation between Dan Glass and Lady Phyll, founder of UK Black Pride, Europe’s largest celebration for LGBTQI+ people of African, Asian, Caribbean, Latin American and Middle Eastern-descent; Angelina Namiba, co-author of Our Stories Told By Us; Tashnuva Ferdousi from 'The Rainbow Tree, the Bangladeshi LGBTQIA+ movement and Robert Allen, a representative of OUTbound, Transport for London’s (TfL) Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGBT+) Staff Network Group. The conversation will be hosted by Shivani Dave.
This will be followed by performances by Shivani Dave aka. Dishi Sumac; drag artist sensation Bolly Illusion; and DJ sets from Nite Dykez and DJ Ritu.
DJ Ritu is an Award-Winning London Disc-Jockey & Trailblazing Broadcaster. They are the voice behind the UK’s definitive global music show, A World in London.
Nite Dykez run monthly nights for the LGBTQIA+ community, and are dedicated to building a community that practices safe and inclusive values. With over 10 years of experience DJing and organizing events, Mica Coca and GIN have a huge passion for electronic music, and their sets are a vibrant blend of classic, Chicago, Detroit, ballroom, bass, soulful, and club-fillers that are sure to get the crowd moving.
Expect: RnB, Afrobeats, UKG, UK Funky, Gay anthems, House classics, Soul, Disco, Motown and Pop.

£10 standard
£20 standard + including a copy of Queer Footprints: A Guide to Uncovering London’s Fierce History (book at reduced price of £10)- Online ticket sales will close two hours prior to the event starting. We encourage booking in advance, as there may not be tickets on the door.
- Books will also be available to purchase on the night at RRP £14.99.
- The event is a mixture of seated and standing, and seats will be available on a first come first served basis.

Meet the Author

Dan Glass
Dan Glass is an ‘Aids Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT UP) healthcare and human rights activist, performer, presenter and writer.
Dan has been recognised as Attitude Magazine’s 'campaigning role models for LGBTQI youth', a Guardian ‘UK youth climate leader’, 2017 'Activist of the Year' with the 'Sexual Freedom Awards' and was announced a 'BBC Greater Londoner' in 2019 for founding 'Queer Tours of London - A Mince Through Time. Dan is an artist with the global In Place of War artist network and an educator from the ‘Training for Transformation’ movement.
Dan recently presented ‘Never Again - Fighting the Polish far-right’ and the Coronavirus cabaret: the online show combating social isolation’ and his book United Queerdom: From the Legends of the Gay Liberation Front to the Queers of Tomorrow was recognised as Observer book of the week June 2020. Dan is also one of the founders of self-defence empowerment programme Bender Defenders and Queer Night Pride aimed at confronting rising hate crime.
