To gain entry to our larger events, we require you to take a free NHS lateral flow test the night before/morning of the event and log the result on the NHS website or NHS app. You can find tests on the NHS website. Please make sure you have your NHS confirmation email/app showing a negative result to hand as you will be asked to show proof of your test while at the event.
If your test is positive please ask the Bishopsgate Box Office whether you can apply for a refund or exchange your ticket for another event. Please contact the Bishopsgate Box Office if you are unable to attend due to a positive test result or if you are asked to isolate.
In addition to these measures, Bishopsgate Institute has strict cleaning protocols in place and ventilation throughout the building. There are also numerous hand-sanitising stations available and touch-free drinking fountains. Find out more about how we’re keeping you safe.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who needs to show proof of a recent negative test, and why?
Anyone hoping to attend an event at Bishopsgate Institute which involves more than 100 attendees in a single space, whether or not they are dancing, singing or exerting themselves.
Who doesn’t need to show proof of a recent negative test?
Anyone hoping to attend an event with fewer than 100 people, including many of our classes, courses and events. However please don’t assume – some smaller events still require proof of a recent negative test, and there will be very clear information on the booking page for your event, and in booking confirmation emails.
Where do I get a test?
NHS lateral flow tests are free and can be ordered from this website https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests - they should arrive within 24 hours of ordering. Many pharmacies also have tests available for free for walk in customers.
Can I do/get a test at Bishopsgate Institute?
No, Bishopsgate Institute will not have any spare tests available to offer you on the door. Unfortunately we cannot offer space for you to take a test on our premises, either.
I have been double vaccinated, am I still required to show proof of a negative test result?
Yes. Following feedback from audience groups and attendees of recent events we are continuing to ask you to show the result of a negative lateral flow test (or PCR test) taken within 24 hours of your arrival at Bishopsgate Institute. This must be shown via an NHS confirmation text message or email showing your name and the date the test was taken.
Can I still attend my event if I’m not fully vaccinated?
Yes you can, but you will need to show proof of a negative NHS lateral flow test (or PCR test). This must be shown via an NHS confirmation text message or email, and the test must have been taken within 24 hours of your arrival at Bishopsgate Institute.
What should I do if I test positive for Covid-19?
If you test positive for Covid-19 or are asked to isolate and are not able to attend your class or pre-booked event, please contact the Bishopsgate Box Office for further information (firstname.lastname@example.org). Please do not come to the Institute in person if you have symptoms or have tested positive.
Can I get a refund if I test positive for Covid-19?
If you test positive for Covid-19 and are able to show evidence of your positive result, please contact the Bishopsgate Box Office to arrange a refund or to exchange your ticket for another event.
What should I do if someone I am in close contact with tests positive for Covid-19 before my class or event?
If this happens before your class or event then please follow the government guidance here.
Do I need to wear a mask when in the building?
We ask that face coverings are worn in all public areas, including on arrival and when walking through the corridors, using bathrooms, cloakrooms and bar areas.
What measures has Bishopsgate Institute implemented due to Covid-19?
We have strict cleaning protocols in place and ventilation throughout the building. There are also numerous hand-sanitising stations available and touch-free drinking fountains. Find out more about how we’re keeping you safe.
