Lunchtime Concert: Guildhall Chamber Orchestra
Alexander Janiczek © Colin Jackson

Alexander Janiczek director/violin
Luba Tunnicliffe viola

Mozart Sinfonia Concertante K364
Dvořák Serenade in E Op. 22

Few violinists working today can equal the intellectual and musical breadth of Alexander Janiczek. “Spellbinding” (the Guardian), “truly astounding...a blistering performance” (the Herald), are typical of words with which the press attempt to describe both the heat of his skill on the instrument, and the deep-centered musicality that Janiczek brings to all his work. Now a professor at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, he directs from the concertmaster’s desk two of the most sublime works in the orchestral repertoire.

This concert is part of the Young Artists Series showcasing new and emerging talent in the world of classical music. The series is presented in partnership with City Music Society.
