Proof, if needed, that archives are not just about piles of paper and protest is not just about placards. In addition to quarter of a million photographs, ephemera and documents from the last two centuries of social history, politics and protest, we also are home to more unusual artefacts. These costumes, worn by Stonewall employees at a protest against Heinz after they withdrew a US commercial depicting gay couple in 2008, are seen here sported by our Special Collections and Archives staff at Bishopsgate Institute.
