Bishopsgate Institute runs a learning programme for adults comprising courses, workshops, masterclasses and other classes. These usually take place at lunchtime and in the evening on weekdays, and during the day at weekends. Looking ahead to the Autumn Term, we are hoping to expand our existing offer and are looking for expressions of interest from tutors

To celebrate LGBT50 this July, Bishopsgate Institute has programmed new Archive Tours of our extensive LGBTQ Collections, a talk by Matt Cook about 'queer London' plus a new panel display highlighting our LGBTQ collections and materials.

Proof, if needed, that archives are not just about piles of paper and protest is not just about placards. In addition to quarter of a million photographs, ephemera and documents from the last two centuries of social history, politics and protest, we also are home to more unusual artefacts. These costumes, worn by Stonewall employees at a protest against Heinz after they withdrew a US commercial depicting gay couple in 2008, are seen here sported by our Special Collections and Archives staff at Bishopsgate Institute.
