How much do you know about this extraordinary group of people?
Fleeing religious persecution in France during the 16th and 17th centuries, the French Protestant Huguenots emigrated to non-Catholic nations across the world. One of the places they settled was Spitalfields in London, where they were to leave an indelible mark on local culture and the community. Often recognised for their expertise and skills in weaving, there is a lot more to know about this extraordinary group of people. This festival celebrates the talents and history of the Huguenots, as well as their contribution to the history of Spitalfields, and the other countries where they sought sanctuary.
