Grant Award Ceremony
Building Bridges – Bishopsgate Institute’s Community Grant Programme Award Ceremony
6 November 2012, 5.30pm - 8.00pm
We invite you to attend a special evening at Bishopsgate Institute devoted to discovering more about local charities that work in the East End of London.
Listen to a short presentation from two local voluntary groups, followed by the presentation of grant cheques to successful applicants who applied to Bishopsgate Institute’s grant fund.
There will also be displays of work by a number of charities and the opportunity to network with people who work towards alleviating hardship and enriching the lives of local people in the East End of London. The event will take place in our beautiful Great Hall.
Since Bishopsgate Institute opened in 1895 we have supported local people who need a little financial aid. Historically this has mainly been through ‘top-up’ pensions to the elderly, but more recently the Institute has been giving grants to local charities that help a wide range of people.
This year we are giving away £40,000 in grants of between £1000 - £3,000. In 2011 we gave grants to 25 organisations working with the elderly, children, young men and women from all backgrounds, covering homelessness, mental health, physical health, education, employment and prostitution.
We look forward to welcoming you. There is no charge for this event and refreshments will be available.
If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Stephanie Dacres at firstname.lastname@example.org
