Announcing our new Director of Programmes, Francesca Canty
Bishopsgate Institute is delighted to welcome Francesca Canty as its new Director of Programmes.
Since completion of an extensive refurbishment programme in summer 2011 of its landmark, listed building on Bishopsgate in the heart of dynamic Spitalfields, Bishopsgate Institute aims to play a significant role contributing to London's cultural and intellectual life.
The Board of Trustees felt strongly that Francesca has the passion for our vision as well as the ability to create a compelling programme and convey the excitement of that programme to the people of London. Francesca explains: -
“I’m thrilled to be joining Bishopsgate Institute at such an exciting time. Perhaps one of the best-kept secrets in London, with its loyal fan base, comprehensive offer and extraordinary resources, Bishopsgate Institute is clearly ready to develop further into a destination of choice. I’m looking forward to working with the dedicated and talented team to surprise, stimulate and entertain audiences old and new, in London and beyond.”
Francesca is currently UK & International Cultural Programmes and Partnerships Manager, London 2012 Organising Committee. In this role she has developed an impressive range of cultural opportunities around the UK through a vibrant and relevant programme of work, which will reflect and celebrate the Olympic and Paralympic Games and help ensure a positive legacy for the Games. She will be bringing this unique level of experience and ability to her new role delivering Bishopsgate Institute’s vision to open minds, challenge perceptions and enrich lives through inspired public programmes. Francesca commences on 3 December 2012.
