This course focuses on the 1880s to the 1930s, when London’s East End was engulfed in a series of social, economic and political struggles. It identifies key individuals, examines their personal histories, looks at what they set out to achieve, and evaluates the extent to which they were successful in transforming the East End. The course will be taught through four classroom sessions and three guided walks.

The three Saturday guided walks will take place on 17 February, 3 March and 17 March 2018 from 11.00 - 13.00.

No classes on 20 February, 6 March and 20 March 2018.
