The first of four one-day-long classes that explore the rich and vibrant social history of London’s East End. From the early 17th century the East End was transformed by shipping and overseas trade, and the influx of thousands of French Protestant Huguenot silk weavers. This course will use original sources from the Bishopsgate Special Collections and Archives.
