Discover the varied and fascinating history of the often-overlooked borough of Hackney through four neighbourhoods experiencing a renaissance. Hackney Central with its new leisure complexes also has a rich history with Sutton House, the Workers' Circle and early feminist activists. Stokey, 'a misty village' is home to the delightful Clissold Park and Abney Park Cemetery. Dalston is now really buzzing and London Fields, once a thoroughfare for market porters with its Broadway Market and canal side walkways, is now a magnet for weekend enjoyment.

Week 1 meeting point: Hackney Central – outside Hackney Central overground at the bottom of the ramp leading from the entrance/exit.

Week 2 meeting point:Stoke Newington – outside Manor House tube, exit 3 street level.

Week 3 meeting point: Dalston – outside Dalston Junction.

Week 4 meeting point: London Fields – outside Hackney Town Hall on Mare Street.
