A course for anyone interested in audio drama, whatever their experience or creative background. This course starts by getting to know the medium. We’ll explore the microphone as point-of-view, the audience experience, and the infinite possibilities of location.

We’ll consider documentary drama and verbatim/improvised storytelling. We’ll do writing exercises in class around character and story, inspired by audio from the Bishopsgate archive.

We’ll also make some scratch recordings, and there’ll be a chance to work with actors on your scripts. You’ll leave the course with a short audio script and a head full of ideas.
