Supporting the Local Community
Bishopsgate Institute is committed to supporting local people in need. We do this by focusing on two main areas of activity:
- a pensioners club which provides monthly lunches, regular outings and a quarterly top-up pension to a group of 55 local residents
- a grant award scheme which is open to local organisations who help people in need, hardship or distress.
Grant Award Scheme
We offer grants to organisations who help people in need and have resided or worked in the parishes of St. Botolph’s Without Bishopsgate, Christchurch Spitalfields and St. Leonard’s Shoreditch, and who have a focus on the elderly or young people.
We are particularly looking for organisations for which a grant of £1,000 to £3,000 will have the greatest impact in terms of helping those in need.
The application form, guidelines and a map showing the geographic areas that we support are available below.
The closing date for applications is 10.00am, 23 August 2012.
