Accessibility

Arriving at Bishopsgate Institute

From 28 June 2010 our Bishopsgate entrance is closed for refurbishment work. Please use our new Spitalfields entrance around the corner on Brushfield Street,  just past our loading bay. This entrance is fully accessible.

Wheelchair access

Bishopsgate Library, the Great Hall, Upper Hall, lower ground floor and reception area are fully accessible to wheelchair users. There is no wheelchair access to the Boardroom or Brushfield wing where many of our language and leisure courses take place.

Accessible parking

A limited number of parking spaces are available for Blue Badge holders outside Bishopsgate Institute in Brushfield Street. 

Toilets and showers

Accessible toilets are available on each floor of our main building. There is also an accessible shower room with lockers for course students on the lower ground floor.

Guide Dogs

Guide Dogs and Hearing Dogs for the deaf are welcome at the Institute.

Printed materials

Our prospectus, events brochure and library information brochure are all available in large print, audio and electronic formats. Please call or email Reception to receive a copy.

Attending our cultural events and concerts

Our autumn 2010 cultural events talks programme will take place in Bishopsgate Library which is fully accessible.

The autumn lunchtime concerts will take place at St Botolph without Bishopsgate, Bishopsgate, London EC2M 3TL (close to Liverpool Street Station). Please contact Bishopsgate Institute in advance to discuss any access requirements you might have for your visit. Please also note that there are no public toilets at St Botolph's. The nearest public conveniences are at Liverpool Street Station.

We can reserve seats at our events and concerts if required and are available to meet any group parties visiting the Institute.  

Concessionary rates are available to disabled visitors. We also offer two for one tickets to disabled visitors who require the assistance of a companion. 

A portable loop system is available for use at cultural events.
