Bishopsgate Library

Bishopsgate Library offers free public access to its
world-renowned collections on London, labour, freethought and co-operation.  

We are an independent library, wholly funded by Bishopsgate Institute.

The Library is open to everyone, with no membership required. All visitors are welcome to explore our varied collections.

We have unique and fascinating historical collections and continue to collect a broad range of books, pamphlets and archival material. In addition, the Library holds research materials for local and family historians, and maintains general reference materials and current national and local newspapers.

Please note that our books cannot be borrowed.

Please Note: Bishopsgate Library will be closed from Monday 23 to Monday 30 August inclusive. This is for essential stocktaking. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We reopen on Tuesday 31 August.
