Bishopsgate Library

Bishopsgate Library offers free public access to its world-renowned collections on London, labour, freethought and co-operation.
Bishopsgate Library is now closed until April 2010 for our building refurbishment project.
For more information on how to access our collections during this period please
refer to Enquiries. For more information on how the building project will affect the rest of Bishopsgate
Institute please refer to Our building project.
We are an independent library, wholly funded by Bishopsgate Institute.
The Library is open to everyone, with no membership required. All visitors are welcome to explore our varied collections.
We have unique and fascinating historical collections and continue to collect a broad range of books, pamphlets and archival material. In addition, the Library holds research materials for local and family historians, and maintains general reference materials and current national and local newspapers.
Please note that our books cannot be borrowed.
