Mark Jackson and Huw Davies CollectionAdministrative/Biographical History: A year before Spitalfields Market moved to Hackney Marshes, two young photographers, Huw Davies and Mark Jackson, undertook to photograph the workings of the all-night food emporium. The result is a collection of more than 4,000 striking Black and White images. The home of this unique and fascinating social documentary collection is the Bishopsgate Institute. (The collection also features thousands more pictures featuring London street-life, Blackpool's Golden Mile and the travelling fair season at Hull Fair and Nottingham Goose Fair.)
